Change for Kentucky Chapters Endorse Greg Fischer for Senate

May 6, 2008 Louisville—Seven local chapters of Change for Kentucky have endorsed Democratic Candidate for US Senate, Greg Fischer.  The Change for Kentucky chapters are part of Democracy for America, a nationwide organization that supports grassroots activism and focuses on supporting candidates at all levels of government.

Kentucky chapters that support Fischer include Campbell County, Frankfort/Franklin County, Hardin County, Kenton County, Lexington, Mason County, and Shelby County.

“Greg Fischer is the only candidate that can beat Mitch McConnell,” said Jim Call, Frankfort, Ky. coordinator for Change for Kentucky.  “He is squeaky-clean and doesn’t have the baggage that Bruce Lunsford does.  He knows the issues and is honest and open about them.”

On its website, the Campbell County chapter writes, “Fischer, as a proven businessman and employer and has the best grasp of the needs for the economy of any of the candidates running for the US Senate from Kentucky in 2008.”

The support of grass-roots Democratic groups such as these, all over the Commonwealth, are another indication that Fischer is winning this campaign in the towns and county courthouses across Kentucky, said Ken Shapero, Fischer Campaign Communications Director.
